From personal experience, if you are going to go to school, pursue an associates or bachelors degree instead of a diploma. If you are looking at a diploma you might as well pursue a certification.

You cannot go wrong with a degree of some sort and a certification.

Indeed, the different is very huge between a degree and a diploma programme.

Degree programmes primary help you to trainup analysis skills(This is very important). They also give you a much more comprehensive study.

Diploma programmes ususally focus on a certain field and technical knowledges/skills. However, degree will focus on both academic and technical. In general, tend to academic(much more in-depth theories and concepts)but depending on the University. The workload of degree is large. The first of three months workload may equal to one year of Diploma programme.

More importantly, many employers would like to filter out those guys that don't hold a degree qualification. I suggest at least to get a associates degree if you don't want to do an entry-level job forever.

If you are going to go the diploma route, at least go into a program that will let you move into a associate program.

Still, look into certification(s) instead of a diploma.
