| Hi all:
I have my MCSE NT4, MCP+I, N+ and A+. I have been a network administrator in the past for 3 years on Netware 3.12 using Windows 9.x clients, however I do not hold any Netware certs. I have about 1 1/2 years experience with NT and over 15 years in the end user and repair side. I know that there are salary surveys out there, however they usually are not 'realistic'. What should I ask for in terms of salary range, I dont want to overprice myself and I dont want to undercut myself either. Please help!

| I am in the Tampa area, and I would say you should be around 45-55k though I know in Boca the cost of living is higher. You could easily find a job I would think in that range. However, I think that you are going to find it tough to ask for more right now without some W2K certs too.
Unfortunately, there are so many NT4 people out there I have seen a lot of employers looking for at least a MCP 2K cert to separate yourself from the crowd.
With several more years of experience than you and my MCSE 2K I am at $65k looking to make a jump up to $80k+ up in the Memphis/Nashville area.
Good Luck | |

| Here in UK on jobsites, jobs advertised and the salary being offered is also listed among other thhings. If its same for jobsites where you come from, look at some of these jobs to get a rough idea of what people with experience are earning and then amend accordingly to your level of experience of network administartion or job you are going for. | |

| Well, I'm your neighbor, here in Pompano Beach. I work for Minolta as a network engineer. S. Fl pays less than the rest of the US. Expect to earn between 50-60 K.
