Author ORACLE DBA WHERE TO START FROM?

2001-02-14, 2:02 pm

Hello Guys,
I am trying to look into Oracle stuff. Have absolutely no experience with database or SQL or anything of that sort.More on the networking side. I would like to know, where should I start from . What is a good resource and if you guys could give some more info of the track itself. I want to know that how should I go by planning for DBA. Any suggestions would help.

Thanks,

Hey, I'm also going to be going for my Oracle DBA soon, but right now I am two tests away from becoming a MCDBA. I already am a MCSE and will soon be a MCSE+I. I did some research and found out that you can download all the software you'll need from Oracle's website. The DBA track has 5 tests. There are actually two possible tracks, Oracle 8 DBA and Oracle 8i (internet) DBA. Check out the Oracle website, all of the info you need will be over there. I had practically no experience with SQL either, but if you have the software and the willpower, I'm sure you can do it! Good luck!
