First thing: if you want to work in IT, then don't type with CAPS on. It is considered impolite.

I am clearly not a woman, but having survived in this industry for many years now, I figured I would try and help out.

The first thing is to know where in IT you want to work, i.e. programming, network Admin, Network Engineer, NOS, Routers, etc...

To get experience at first, there are many ways, from setting up your own consulting business to working at the help desk for ISPs and Large corporations. You can also work for free on the side with non-profit orgs, churches, etc... You may also volunteer in local schools and in continuing education centers.

The sky is the limit

Thanks......and i will not type in caps

I went to school for Networking , so that is the way that I want to go.

At the present time I am doing Help Desk work but it is just not fulfilling my need to get out there.

you're welcome. If you are already working at the help desk, see if you can get tasks with the network admin team, like creating accounts, etc.. and work your way up from there. I see you have a CCNA, see if you can get involved with router work...
