what is the difference between custom animation and transition effects?
when are they appropriate? when is better not to use them? give specific examples. please help!

Transitions are how slides replace one another during a slide show. Custom animations are the actual elements on a slide such as graphics and bulleted text appears on the slide during a slide show. Slide transitions include Cover Down, Cover Up. Animations include Fly,Crawl, and Appear.
