MS Excel 97 trouble

| I have installed WindowsXP on my computer, and then install MS Office 97 (Excel).
However I try to choose Menu Tools/Options Excel is closing with the message of error in the excel.exe module.
How I can fix this problem?

| You can't mix apples and oranges. You will have to choose one of them. You can't have XP without XP Office. IT was never designed to allow a mixture of Office 97 or 2000 to XP.
You will have to decide which is more important and reinstall. | |

| Well, but why this problem exists with only Excel 97?
As you got MOUS certificate, tell me where is backward compatibility in MS products?
I suppose that someone has got the same problem and can help me.

| did you try installing Excel 97 into a different directory. Try installing Excel 97 into the Program files/Microsoft Office97 directory instead of just Microsoft Office |
