I'm planning on getting certified in Office 2000 and I was wondering: Am I gonna have to learn the new one in a few years? Or are the different versions fairly similar, and only come with some minor changes from the previous version?

XP, Office 2002, will have different certifications. Access is basically the same. Word is improved, except for task panes and smart tags, and Powerpoint is harder to use. Word now has support for voice which has no equivalent in previos software. The applications will be similar as long as the software is for the Windows OS. It will have a similar user interface; title bar, status bar, menu bar, scroll bar etc.
