Question about MOUS

| Hi, Everybody!
I'm new to this MOUS forum and after reading some of these messages a few questions popped up:
1. I see that many of you say that it's worth getting MOUS certified, but what exactly does the certification show to the your employer? That you're able to use Microsoft apps?
2. I've read that the exams have you demonstrate your ability to use the apps, and it also wants you to show your ability to work accurately & efficiently. I realize that the exams are timed, but will it dock you if you take extra steps to accomplish a task(s)?
3. I've looked at some of the study guides available, and I realize that each person is different in regards to their study methods. But does anybody have recommendations on books (i.e. Amazon.com has a few study guide books, and Exam Prep books)?
I'd appreciate any input. Thanx

| Ill answer what I can.
Q2) With the MOUS exams all that counts is the end results in most cases. So just remember to do exactly what it says and nothing more or less. If you run out of time and havent finished the exam then the questions unanswered are marked wrong.
Q3) For the Excel exam I used the Complete Reference for Excel 2000. The rest I just studied other online resources and went over the objectives in each exam to see what I didnt know.

| Becoming MOUS certified tells an employer that you are skilled in the Office applications. This certification has been growing at a rapid rate, and is becoming more and more important in the market place.
See: http://www.examnotes.net/?action=examen&testid=MOUS , for more information.
Usually it is the end result that matters, however in some cases you are told to perform a task by using menus or by using buttons - you have to make sure you do exactly what the questions say.
I would strongly recommend the Complete Reference books for all of the MOUS exams.
