Hi, I'm wondering if I should do excel, word, access etc in core testing section or go to expert. I do have a fair bit of background in office knowledge, but I just wonder if I should start with core and then go to expert or go right to expert. Is expert exams much harder then core exams and do business's like to see expert certifications more then core certs?
Thanks for the great forum, this is sure good.

I made up my profile sometime ago and didn't realize I didn't put any info into it, how can I change that now. I can say I have certifications in A+, ccna and part way to w2k. I'm also thinking about citrix, I hear its getting hot nowadays. I'm from western Canada.

Click the profile tab at the top of the screen and then choose Edit Profile. That will let you change your profile.

Thanks, I'll do that. What do you think of my first post, about core or expert exams? Do business's prefer to see expert mous? Can a person just be expert in excel and word and then do access etc later?
Thanks again.

I think its up to you which one you take, obviously Expert looks more impressive, and is handy incase you decide to go for the MOUS Master Instructor designation.

You can take the exams whenever, and as close together or as far apart as you'd like. You could get certified in WORD and wait three months to write anything else, or not write anything else if you wanted. The exams are set up so that you can take as many or as few as you want.

Wow - I seem to be talking in circles here - so I'm going to go and get some sleep (I haven't slept in two days), and I will post a follow up message later.

I hope you got some well deserved rest, but basically I was hoping to find out if the expert track of exams, for instance word and excel, were much harder then the core exam. I'm just not sure if I should try the expert exam or the core exam.
Take care eh.

Yes, I did have a good rest - thank you!

The Expert exams are alot harder than the core level exams. You mentioned that you have a strong background in the Office Products though, so you should be okay with the Expert level. If you are really worried, try the core first, and the expert later. The Expert exams have different, more complex objectives than the core exams.
