| I am starting to study for Microsoft Excel 2000 but hesitant because of the release of Microsoft XP later this year. I would hate to start all over again taking test just to upgrade my certification to XP. Any Suggestions on what to do? Do I wait until XP or go ahead and study Excel 2000?
Does anybody have any self-study material to suggest?

| Get all the certifications you can get.
Although XP is out, many businesses can't afford to keep upgrading when a new version comes out. XP is the newest but 2000 will be the most prevelant for a while in my opinion. I know businesses that still use Office 97. If finances allow, get all you can get.

| Another key factor to consider is that the XP exams are no going to have all of the wrinkles ironed out for about a year. Even after an exam finishes its beta period and goes live, changes still get made to the exam along the way in order to refine it. Also - there are lots of study materials out there for MOUS 2000 certifications which is a major factor.
While there are some study materials already on the market for Office XP, you have to remember that the exams are still in their beta version, and personally, I wouldn't delve into the Office XP study materials until their second editions come out. |
