I called Microsoft today, as promised. The MOUS Authorized Instructor program was officially cancelled as of yesterday!!

The Microsoft site will be updated to reflect this within the next couple of days.

Isn't that just like Microsoft to procrastinate something like this. Although, I was assured that every AI and AI applicant would be officially notified of this by Microsoft through e-mail.

Bummer, I am, or was a MOUS AI. All that work for only one year of glory.

I wonder if they will trash the whole MOUS program

I don't think they have any intentions of dropping the entire MOUS program, due to the fact the Office XP Betas are to be released soon.

Also, the MOUS certification program is one of the fastest growing certifications out there at the moment.

I have no idea why they would target the MOUS AI, unless they aren't making enough money off of it.

Dear Paisleyskye,

It really surprises me!

I finally got my master certification last month. My next goal is to be a MOUS AI. I am planning to be a MOUS AI because I still can work after I have a baby. It seems that I have to make another plan.
Is it legal to teach without MOUS AI certification?

Thank you.
Best regards,

Wanshu

Hi,

It has always been legal to teach the MOUS certification courses without being a MOUS AI, and there are actually more instructors that don't have it.

I suspect this may be one of the reasons the program was dropped.

I am a MOUS AI, and have received NO E mail whatsoever.

I wonder if I can still call myself AI and still use the logo on my resume.

Hi Bill,

You should soon. The official decision was only made on Wednesday, and I got the only official statement that I could get yesterday. I'm sure everything will be spelled out in the e-mail when you get it.

If you are in doubt, call the MOUS Hotline. If you don't have the number, let me know and I will post it in here for you.

With the recent demise of the MOUS AI program, is there an acceptable alternative? Such as Microsoft Certified Trainer and MOUS? Or maybe even the CTT+ certificate from CompTIA and MOUS? I was thinking of becoming a MOUS AI after I become an MCT, so that's why I know about the MOUS AI, at least, what it used to be.
