I have recently started studying for the MOUS 2000 series of exams.

Like yourself I thought about 2000 or XP and came to the conclusion that "I don't know anyone or any organisation that uses Office XP" and "cannot see anyone or any organisation wanting to upgrade from 2000 to XP in the near future".

I opted for Office 2000 for the above reason plus the fact it is an established exam, with plenty of books and course material available (if required).

If you feel confident go for the Expert Level and save yourself an exam fee. However if you have never sat a MOUS exam it may be worth your while to sit the core syllabus to get a feel for the exam and not dive straight into the more difficult syllabus, get anxious and end up failing.

I am trying to study and sit the MOUS Excel and Outlook exam before the end of the year because Microsoft are putting up the exam prices from £58.75 to around £80.00 I have been told.

What ever you decide good luck!!
