| I am about to take the Access 2000 MOUS exam.. Anyone taken it!!?? Any advice?!
In regards study material, I got a book at a local tech. college ($35) Simulates the test , timing etc...Called "Access 2000 Essentials" by prentice hall! I'm sure it's priced alot higher there.. Not sure if its close to the test format , but excellent for reviews .....
n.b. It does cover both Core & Expert.

| I have taken all the MOUS exams and am a MOUS Master. None of them are really all that hard if you prepare well. With the materials you have you should do well. | |

| Used this book when I took the test recently. I scored well. The test seemed easy after using the book. The test was more core than expert.
Good Luck Kieron! | |

| I just did MOUS Access 2000 today - no problem with the tasks, but time is the real enemy. I finished with just ten minutes to spare.
I also used the Prentice Hall book: very good for practice, because the questions mimic the test very closely. For the tricker stuff, I used IDG's "Microsoft Access 2000 Bible." This book goes into much more depth than the PH book, and will be a great reference for further work.
In addition, my employer provided three levels of Computer Based Training courses from Smart Certify (http://www.smartcertify.com). These we very good for the learning process, but the sample tasks from Prentice Hall were better.
All in all, the MOUS process for Access was good for learning and certification. Good luck to anyone who pursues the MOUS!

| I agree with snail fever, the time is against you I only had a minute to spare. The tasks are pretty easy, nothing in depth like macros, or sql.
TIP: Learn your wizards and formatting forms and reports.

| I purchased the MOUS Access 2000 Essentials book after reading the comments here. The book is wonderful. I have passed four MOUS tests and this is the first tool that has really been helpful in preparing for a test. There is a book for each software package.
One disappointing word of caution though. The PinPoint software that helps you prepare for the test will not run under Windows 2000. After emailing several contacts yesterday, I received a reply today. "This software was not created for Windows 2000. You can run the program in W2K at your own risk if you want" they said. |
