I have a workstation in my internal network that has watchguard vpn client installed that cannot successfully create a vpn tunnel to the vpn gateway.

I have a Cisco 800 series router also acting as a firewall ... what should I look for on the router to allow it the tunnel to be successful. I have elimated that the workstation watchguard (safenet client) was misconfigured by importing the client to another workstation on a diffrent network.

For starters you should make sure that the router is allowing TCP port 500 (isakmp) and IP protocols 50 & 51 (AH & ESP) to pass. Not sure if the Watchguard VPN Client or what you connecting to uses others though.
