Hi

I'm starting to work on getting the CCIE R&S qualification.

Can anyone give me guidance on what kit I need to be looking to acquire to practice for the lab exam ??

Thanks

might want to check out www.ccbootcamp.com I have no experience with them but judging from their website, they have it pretty much together.

I actually purchased the CCBootcamp/Network Learning labs and was very happy with them. Plan on needing at least 10 routers to do most of their labs though.

But in the real r&s lab exam you will not get more then 6 routers so why to give troubble yourself ?

True, there are 6 routers in the lab, but there are also 2 3550's and more than likely you will be configuring them to route. There are also 2 - 3 routers outside of your administration. That is why most of the CCBootcamp labs have that many.

Also, it's not a bad idea to practice with scenarios that are more complex than the real thing. Hell, it worked for me

Unfortunately I don't qualify as a mutant then. It took me 3. I'm just the average 3-4 attempts guy.

zac ,
so what put you over the top ???

a. gave up a life and practiced 24/7
b. someone's lab workbook ?
c. a boot camp like cysco expert ???

All of the above.

I studied constantly, bought Network Learning/CCBootcamps Lab Workbook, put in about 500 hours on a practice lab, and went to Cysco Expert for 7 days. Also had to make a deal with you know who.

I actually used the CCIE rack at Cisco's office in Bloomington. I see you're from Minneapolis too, so that might be an option for you. If work for a Cisco partner, or very large customer. I went in every week.
