I have a couple dozen remote sites with PIX501's that VPN into a 3000 series VPN concentrator. For the most part this has worked flawlessly with the exception of once in a while a couple of the sites lose their VPN connection and the only way we can get them back online is to reload the remote 501 firewalls. I have tried to do some research but have not come up with anything as of yet. I was hoping someone out there might have had a similar issue.

Any help would be appreciated. If there is more info I could give please let me know. Thanks in advance.

hi,

1. do you run pix os 6.3.3?
2. do you run pppoe on the devices with the problems?

then change the pix os to 6.3.4. i can give you the bug id if you want. somethimes when the pppoe session terminates (24h disconnect in germany) the ppoe session doesn´t start any more.

Actually 6.3.1 but no PPPOE. They are static T1 locations.

Hi,

well we had that problem with pppoe hum. you should try to upgrade to the latest version before you open a tac case. because thats the first thing the tac will tell you to do

ciao
