Author 2924XL vs 3550?

I know the new lab format has now Cat 3550 switch instead of 5500.

I haven't used 3550 that much and don't have currently access to one. I have 2924XL instead.

Does anyone know how much different both are from one another? I mean from IOS stand point.

the main difference is that they don't fully implement ios and layer 3 functions
they are really layer2 devices
the 3550 does
