| You will need these books at least as text books.
The books you will sure need are, Routing TCP/IP, Volume I and Volume II Cisco Press books.
You can also start with something like "CCIE Routing and Switching Exam Cram", it is not the best, specially after the new R&S format. But what you can do is take a general knowledge from this book and get more details from Cisco Online documentation on the web. | |

| I read Caslow cover to cover for the lab. I read parts of it repeatedly. I also read parts of routing Doyle Vol II (BGP and Multicasting, mostly), parts of Doyle Vol I (mostly stuff on redistribution & route control) and briefly went through the DLSw stuff from Network Design & Case Studies.

| MadChef,
Do you think that the Caslow book is still a good book for the one day lab and w/ the change to Cat. 3550's. Thanks for you opinion.

| Caslow book is the best book I have read, regardless of the CCIE changes.. at least this is what I think.. | |

Yes. The bulk of the main concepts are still there. Also, keep in mind that while Caslow is excellent, you should not consider it to be sufficiently in depth for the lab.

| Understood. I was just wondering if it would be a good addition to what I have already. Thanks for the response.
