| Woohoo!!!
Here's my CCIE Written experience:
The exam tests that you understand the basic configuration and concepts behind a broad range of protocols.
The questions were written clearly and did not go into "obscure commands".
It was a fairly easy test. Aced it, no prob.
Resources:
Caslow R&S
Cisco Universe CD
Boson Practice Test #1
I wasn't too happy with the practice test. It had many cut+pastes from Caslow and the CID coursebook. Also, some questions were too similar to the actual exam questions.
Study Plan:
CCNP covers most of the knowledge.
Here's how I studied for it.
Week #1:
Cisco UniverseCD
Read Catalyst 5000 configuration guide
Practiced on my Catalyst 5000
!! Found out being replaced on CCIE. ARGH!!
Weekend #1:
Bridging
Token Ring White Paper
CCIE Practical Studies DLSW+
CCIE Case Studies SNA
Caslow
CID
Desktop Protocols (IPX, Appletalk, DECNET)
Caslow
r1r2.com routers (IPX/RIP and IPX/EIGRP)
ATM
CCIE Case Studies
CID coursebook,
Caslow,
ATM Solutions
Copied configurations several times
Weekend #2:
Caslow - review CCNP materials
WAN - FR, DDR
Week #3:
Read Cisco UniverseCD
IP Addressing section
IP Routing section
Weekend #3:
IP Routing review...
DLSW+ review...
Catch a movie! Have dinner. Chill out.
If I could change one thing, I would have skipped studying the Catalyst 5000 configurations since it's being replaced in the new CCIE lab.
Cheers,
