so, that's all it takes and where was I not looking to find that info. In all of my ccnp wisdom this seemed like a very simple problem........not. Did searches on cisco site for ignored updates and bad sources........no luck.....well, i will tell you if it worked later..thanx in advance.

I knew about the command, though I couldn't remember it exactly.

www.cisco.com -> Technical Documents -> IOS Software, Release 12.1 -> Configuration Guides and Command References -> Cisco IOS IP and IP Routing Command Reference, Release 12.1 -> IP Routing Protocols -> RIP Commands -> validate-update-source

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td...ip.htm#xtocid20

The DocCD (Technical Documents online) is your best friend. Know it. Love it.
