Doing mine in July at RTP, unless current events force me to reschedule.

Life is harsh sometimes.

Started my Studies for my CCNA alomost exactly 2 years ago.

Passed the 407 with 15 days of study right around June 24 I believe...

Signed up for the Cisco Academy - knocked right through 3 semesters quickly (the 3rd semester took about a whole 3-4 hours including the final).

Took the 507 in December just because (they raised the score - wanted to make sure I had it still). Studied for about 2 weeks.

Took a breath for about 2 months.

Went to a 2-day class on Setting up Cisco Routers. - Worked out my last issues with subnetting.

The instuctor was afraid to give his e-mail address to a guy who had more stuff for Cisco than him...

Gave him a "Study CD" anyway...

It's all good.

Installed a Frame Relay Circuit and 3 satellite offices for a local charity with a well-known national presence.

Got my config time down to 3 minutes flat total while I waited 6 hours for the line to get turned up.

Did my CCDA with a little study. Strongly reviewed ACRC and CCNA till 100%. About April or so - If I recall correctly.
Still 2001.

Read a couple of books on BSCN, took the BSCI Beta the Saturday before...

This is in June/2001.
Knocked out the whole CCNP in for days flat.

Feeling good - took the CID on Saturday - Failed by 14 points - ouch!

Took it again about 5 days later - Passed it.

In September knocked out the CCIE Written studied for about a whole week (after work).

Took out the wireless exams (did a re-take once - ouch!)

Signed up for lab on Jan 25th - rescheduled till July 14th 2002.

May have to re-schedule again - If I do it'll be March.

I started a study group with some very dedicated international players...

Works out well..

Knocked out the 4 GPS Qualifications in 2 Nights of Dedicated study...

Those are the A+ of the Cisco world. Gotta know your 65xx and 75xx thoroughly to pass.

I've been playing with my home lab and various scenarios from tons of sources:

CNAP
Satrelee v1/v2
Cert Nerds (Cisco)
Mentor tech
CNAP Workbooks
Lammle
Cisco Cims
Boson Sims
Hello Computers (Security)
CCNA/CCNP/CCIE Practical Studies
Caslow
Halabi
Doyle
Nam-Kee
Parkhurst
Rossi
CCPrep
NetworkZone
ASET Labs
WSU Labs
FSU Labs
Several others
Even more...

Solutions, CC, etc. anything I can fnd or ebay has to offer...

Too much...

Going back through the CD and working on finding each topic from each lab.

Over again -> Working on speed and finding solutions that match the labs

Lots of work

Finished the Cisco Academy Semesters 3/4 in 4 2-3 hour sessions.

Reality is about 300Q in about an hour or so.

Had to re-take a total of 4 sections cause I scored in th 70's.

But not bad considering the wording and not one bit of study prior to walking in other than what we have already discussed.

Read a few books along the way: Caslow, Doyle, Solie, Mahler, VoIP, OSPF - Parkhurst.

A couple of other I'm reading now: CCNA/CCNP Practical Studies, Hutnik Satterlee V1/V2 and Halabi.

Getting it together!

So how about the rest of you...

I've worked a bit setting up some cool stuff too...

Firewalls, VPNs (Global), Firewall/Socks Penetration at IBM/HP/Motorola...

Desigined a VPN Solution with Genuity and Cisco Pix and VPN Concentrators for 8 cities in Australia...

Worked with a global team to split a very large domain...

Did some VoIP/VoFr back in 99'... mostly Design and light t/s.

Work with Switches and setting up VTP domains, and VLANs (lots of them).

Worked for a company that had a nice 500+ Router Farm...

Well that's most of my Cisco History to date.

Biggest equipment - 75xx VXRs and 6509's

And everything from IGS's and AGS's up to them...

Yep, hardware guru and can set up most networks/domains in days (usually weekends).

Worked with Sniffer Pro, Cisco Works, Visio, and What's Up Gold - oh and Fluke too...

Know how to crimp cable and up to 5, 5e, ad 6 as well as how to work with Fiber...

And currently unemployed...

Gotta do a ton of configs

October 9th in San Jose. Constantly checking for an open spot at RTP for that timeframe though.

Edit: Just found a spot in RTP for Oct 16th!

Too much of anything is not good. Air is good for surviving but do we know that too much of it can kill? If I know just as much and have done just as much and posseses just as much as you have, I won't be looking for a job rather I would be operating my own business. I will make people look for me. Thanks.

Timi

For what I am doing my quals are barely entry level...

Getting the Cert is only the first step to show others I even have a clue and can enunciate the diction required...

Got alot more hurdles to get through...

The more you learn the more you realize you have to learn...

Happens to me everyday...
