| When can BGP synchronization be turned off and on? Please, don't refer me to any link, I just want a simple answer from someone who know about bgp because I've read so many info and still confused. thanks | |

| Synchronization off when you're not running an IGP (EIGRP, RIP, etc)... turn it on when you are running an IGP and you have BGP speakers that are not directly connected. | |

| Hi,
You only do that when you do not wish to redistribute BGP into any of your IGP, you will find that your router will not put the best bgp route into the routeing table with synchronization on.
