I am still real new to the world of cisco and have a few questions.

If I wanted to use the Serial Ports on teh 2514, 2502, or 2501 routers as ethernet. What type of cable would I need to hook the db60's to RJ45's.
I would use the DCE/DTE cable but they are rather expense and was wondering how to do it for cheaper

What are you trying to connect the serial ports to? Is it to your LAN or hub? More importantly are you trying to convert the serial ports to ethernet port? This can't be done.

If what you are looking for is an adapter to convert the plug to one that you can use an RJ45 type connector, then I am sure there are some adapters out there. I haven't personally seen this, but it probably does exist.

HTH,

P.S. If you are looking for some kind of converter, let me know and I will see what I can find.

I would have liked to have sent one of the serial port straight to the server.
I would have liked to run the Serial Port to a 1924 Switch.

I guess Serial to Token Ring is out of the question also.

I am really just trying to get different configurations for a home lab, since I will be finishing up with a MS Cert on Monday, Hopefully.
