I am currently working w/ a CCIE and he also says that Halabi's 2nd Edition is the definitive work on BGP. There is also another book out there: Cisco Bgp Command and Configuration Handbook. This is a relatively new book. It is sometimes hard to get. I currently have it on order and have been waiting awhile. BGP can be very comlicated. Good luck!

I have Halabi's Second Edition and Doyle Vol II which also has good coverage of BGP. I like them both. I have the BGP Command reference book, but I never use it.

The book and rfc list at http://www.heinzulm.com is pretty good.
Also I agree Internet routing Architectures by Halabi is very good and considered the definitive BGP resource.

http://www.heinzulm.com/helpful.html RFC's
http://www.heinzulm.com/book1.htm Books

IMHO bookpool has great deals on Cisco press.

Cisco just put out a new CIM (Cisco Interactive Mentor) dedicated to BGP. I just bought it but haven“t used it yet. In fact, I'll start using it today. I'll give you some feedback in a couple of days.

My impression so far of the CIMs is that they are quite useful, especially if you've never touched the material being studied, although I'm quite sure that the real thing (the CCIE lab) will have scenarios that are much more difficult than those presented in the CIM.

Here is the site I use the most

www.bestbookbuys.com

It checks all the sites for the lowest price. More often than not; I have gotten lower than Bookpool on all my CCIE books and a few CCNP ones. Hope this helps everyone.
