| Me personally, Im trying to stay out of trouble! Im thinking of going after the C&S CCIE, but I really dont have time at the moment. We're working on a CCIE Security bootcamp lab type class.
For consulting, Ive been focusing on Security, Wireless, and IP Telephony projects. Fun stuff!
And the latest project of mine:

| Yesterday, I do a tender presentation and Q&A session at a customer site try to selling a few Catalsyt 6509 switches and try to redesign their flat VLAN campus network with fault-tolerant and redundancy built-in.
Today, just do some training to our sales people about the basic concept of VPN.
Tomorrow, will go to see a customer that have a portal web site and want some kind of IDS & firewall design and outsource security management.
There are so many exams and technology I want to learn, never has enough time, hopefully after implementing one of my company client global security project, I am ready to tackle the CCIE security lab. So far I have Network management, DSL, wireless, Security/VPN specialization and going for IP Telepphony, CCIP, CCIE R/S, Content networking, Cable ...

| May be I can share my experience. I get my CCNA & CCNP/CCDP, CCIE written at October 2000 all within one month. Before that I have more than 6 years of pure networking experience on various kind of technology which now not many people have hands-on like X.25, SNA, DLSW, DECNET, IPX. Mostly not on Cisco router but on Digital, 3Com.
Then get a jobs and save some money while built my home lab equipments from ebay and local second hand source. The number of routers at my home lab is more than my company has. Then I decide it is time to go for the ultimate challenge. I quit my job after 4 month at April 2001 and study for the exams full time.
Resource of books including Bruce Caslow, TCP/IP routing volume 1, Internet Routing architecture, CCbootcamp. Most important I form a study group with my old colleague whose all has networking background and most of them pass the CCIE written too. We have meeting nearly every week to talk about various kind of exam topics.
After 2 month of intensive study, I fail at first attempt but I feel I am close to pass mark. Some of the questions I never expect they will come up at all and I have absolute no practice beforehand. Nevermind, go back and book another slot about one month later, this time I write down the topics I fear most and practice, practice, practice until I can do it in reflex action. I read all the document CD about IOS version 12.0 and I feel so confidence this time and I feel NO MATTER what is the questions I can pass it with flying colour.
Indeed, I am so calm this time I don't feel any excitment. Just do what I told to do. 7 people at the first day, only 4 get to next morning. Leaving only me to troubleshooting section. I am confidence that I can pass the exam with quite a lot of margin. After the troubleshooting section, the protor told me to wait outside, this 10 minute wait is the longest wait in my life, seem everything in the world stop. At last the proctor come up to me with a folder and my CCIE certificate inside, he give me a handshake and a congragulation. I feel a relief and glad that everything is finish. I just want a long holiday before looking for any job. Finally I got my CCIE number after 3 months of full time study at July 2001. Then I sold all my lab equipments to another guy who want to be a CCIE with less than 10% lost.
But the truth is this is just the beginning and there are so much things to explore in the networking world. So welcome abroad and most important, enjoy yourself and good luck. It is my pleasure to share with you all my experience.

I still suspicious that how that the heck did you pass these exams in one month, try to recall if you can remember my post about 7 month ago.
PS. where did you take your Lab at??

| thankyou for your explaination vr2zjw i have two more questions i hope so you will answer them also . What were expectations of your company from you before CCIE & after you become CCIE . And when any person becomes CCIE the people & his company expect from him that he is the best in cisco field but does they also expect from him good knowledge of operating systems i.e Unix , Linux or other networking stuff ?
