I was looking for a link that lists all the N. America location at which to take the lab. I did a general search on the Cisco site, but unable to find in the CCIE FAQ, etc. Thanks for the assistance.

I have a friend who stated that there is now a location(s) in the Dallas, Tx. area although I am unable to verify.

Hey, no comments from the peanut gallery! It was what I heard...although, from the start I didn't suspect to was true. False hope really...would save me a bundle in travel expenses!

Just so this isn't a totally useless post; assuming you don't pass the lab the first time, is there a period you have to wait to taker it again?

Does anyone know how difficult it is to get recertified in CCIE? What test is taken - written, lab, or both? I'm not there yet (taking CCIE Lab in summer), but would like to know.

CHEERS!

There's a special recert test. The interesting thing is that you can take the recert for any of the IE's (R/S, Security, multi-service, etc) and have it count regardless of what you're IE is in. So if you're a CCIE R/S, you can take the Security recert and take another 2 years on to your number. The security recert exam is 350-009 whereas the security written qualification is 350-018.
