I'm advertising one of the networks rip is updating. I am also seeing a redistribute connected command in the bgp config. | |

Yes, but how are you advertising it. Are you currently using a network command or are you redistributing RIP. If you replace RIP w/ static routes you can either continue to use the network command or redistribute static.
