| Hi guys wanted your invaluable advice to a question Im sure youve all heard before, but here it is anyway.
I have already comnpleted my ccnp studies, and have wanted to start studying for my CCIE, but havent really dove in yet. Currently im working as a network engineer for a leading International software company, so I get my hands dirty on a daily basis. My question is where is the best place to begin studying??? I have Doyle's volume 1, but have heard people say do the design route it will really help later. I know eventually I will have to read a lot of different books, but where would you all suggest to begin, lets say the first 3-6 months should be ???????????
I hope to pass my written in sometime and schedule a CCIE bootcamp for myself maybe a year from now,,, can you all offer insight to bootcamps at all???? The one in Germany sounds pretty hardcore,,, any others closer to california?????
thanks and please any suggestions would be great......

| Do the design track help you the technology like DLSW since it cover a broader area.
Get the written done as soon as possible, you don't need 3-6 months to prepare for that. Get a CCIE written preparation book like Sybex. You may also want to look at Caslow book. Get the CCIE test question from boson. Get the token ring paper from ccprep.com and make sure you know all those about source routing bridge, source routing transparent bridge, source routing translation bridge, canonical & non-canonical address swaping, RIF decoding. TCP/IP volume 1 help too. Basically, the CCP knowledge plus a bit ATM, voice, Token ring will get the pass the CCIE written.
Don't worry about the lab yet as it is very far away to talk about. Come back when you pass your written.
