| For those guys who have completed their ccie, is it a must to do the ccdp or just a nice thing to have?

| Per Cisco's site...
"The two requirements to become a CCIE are a passing grade on the Routing and Switching qualification exam and a passing grade on the Routing and Switching lab exam. The qualification exam is a prerequisite for attempting and scheduling the lab exam."
In other words, there are no prerequisites. | |

| I have both my CCNP and CCDP and am actively working towards CCIE.
The Design track covers much more theory than CCNP does, and gets into more of the reasons why one would use a particular technology over another. For this reason alone, it is really nice to have for CCIE lab.
Besides, you would retain the CCDP designation after you obtainedthe CCIE, so it is more good letters after your name.
