Hello All,

Has anyone or does anyone here know anyone who took the CCIE Security written Beta Exam?
I'm thinking about going that route.

Also does anyone know when the test will be available? Cisco is very vague as to when it may be available.

Thanks in Advance,

I have no specifics to add, but there is a yahoo egroups mailing list for CCIE-Security. See http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cciesecurity

I just finished my CCNP and was looking for a network security cert and stumbled across the Security CCIE track. Cool! I thought there was only one CCIE track before I did research on CCIE today.

Is there a "core" part of the cert common to all of the CCIE variants and then you pick a specialization (e.g. Security) to complete the rest of the requirements? If so then I will have to research the books , cbt's, and so on that cover both parts of the cert.

I am just glad I found this track because I was reluctant to do a non-cisco cert that my delay my achievement of CCIE. Now I can have my cake and eat it too.
