What do you think about those exams? Would you like to know that how to prepare for them? I passed those exams within about 3 and a half-month.
Let me know if you need help¡_peace of a cake¡_

Hi Dumbut,
I am about ready to start studying for the CCIE written. I also am checking out buying routers and a switch for home lab. So far I
got 2 2514's and close to getting a 4000.
I too am in NY. Live in Bklyn and work in
Manhattan. Wondering if you would like to
put our heads together and help eachother?
I'm off to San Fran this morning to scope out
office move. I'll check back with forum when I get back - Saturday, to see what ya think.
Best of luck.

I just finished CCNP after 3.5 months as well. I have heard that one should cram the remaining material and write the CCIE as soon as possible to prevent knowledge loss.

I admire your ambition to get CCIE in 4 mo. but I think the lab waiting lists are longer than that.

Well, I pass the CCNP, CCDP, CCIE written in one month and I wouldn't say that I can pass the lab within 4 months time.

Good luck to your study.

Well, I guess not many people agree with 4 month to pass the lab, but there are many people made on the first attempt, I know it¡¦s hard but it¡¦s doable if you set your mind to it.

I have say that is very impressive to pass CCNP, CCDP, CCIE written in just one month but for some reason that makes me wondering that how did you do it¡K
I passed all my exams by read, read, and read, and I believe you have to read at least a few books before you can grasp enough concept to pass those exams.
Let¡¦s do some mathematic here, CCNP 3 to 4 books, CCIE written 2 to 3 books and plus CCDP, as we can see it close to 10 books already. Did you scan into your head? I will like to learn it if you can show me how.

It's haste like described below that keeps the Lab first time failure rate around 90%. Sure, alot of people pass there first time at the Lab, but 9 times more fail it.

I don't know how I do it, may be I have photographic memory and few years of networking experiences and have no job to do and study full time. Once you going through one book, it didn't take too much time to go through other similar book.

CCIE lab booked next month, now back to study and play with my home lab of routers.

vr2zjw,

I wonder why you've got few years networking experience and those certs but jobless. Is the job market so bad in HK?

kk1186:

The market is not so bad, after I got those cert., I did get hire in my first interview and work for 4 months. Only I realize the job is not suitable and I make no progress in my CCIE lab preparation. I would rather quit and have my full attenation to crack the lab.

I quit because I can easily find another job with the same pay.
