I just purchased the ccprep's fasttrack for the ccie written exam. It looks really good. It's certainly tougher than anything else I've seen. Does anybody have any idea whether it's a good prep for the test?

I don't have anything to compare it to. I've been reading Doyle, Lamle, Caslow, and Exam Cram, and this is my last step before taking the test. Before I test, I like to run some practice tests to try to get an idea what to expect.

Taking the written sometime in April. If I can schedule it, the lab October or November. Good luck on your test.

wooooo.. that soon? how long have you been studying for this? do you think the ccie bootcamp offered at ccprep is worth it? its like 5000 dollars and in tampa florida... what do you think?

If I can come up with the money, that's the bootcamp I want to take. I haven't heard anything one way or the other about it, but I have respect for Lou Rossi, the guy who runs the site, so I'm hoping for the best.

hey you guys,

got any more info on the ccie bootcamp? I am in tampa, and could probably scrounge up the money.

better schedule your lab in advance, last i heard, there was like a 4-6 month waiting list.
unless you call the lab testing place, sometimes people drop and you can get your name on the waiting list to fill in.

Anyone tried Boson CCIE? How is that ?

Well, Wildtxn at least you won't have to pay travel or hotel. That should save you some money on the bootcamp. If you ahve the money, especially since you're already there, I would take the bootcamp.

My plan is pass the written, register for the lab (can't register until you pass the written) trying for an October date, rent as much router time as I can, take a CCIE bootcamp probably in September, take lab in October. Just a plan. May work, may not. But I'm going to take a run at it.

Another option to consider is to look at university in your area or traveling to the campus. These college in conjunction with cisco offer lab preparations for example Uni of Texas has lab that have required hardware given in the ccie two-lab exam. The cost is anywhere from $250-500 a day and up to five schedule lab days. What I am planning on doing is combining the college perparation with a boot camp of some sort to have a multiple theory presented to me on how to pass the ccie lab.To read more on the topic here is the link..
