i passed !!!

i honestly felt that I had arround an 80 and was
suprised to see a 73%, but i'll take it.
not as much token ring as i expected.
some bgp, ospf not as hard as i expected.
a mix of hard and easy but you have to watch those
"multiple answer" q's they test your trust in your knowledge of the theory(s) applied.

i have to admit i am unconfortable with review
as I always feel better about my initial answers.
i changed about 5 so they could all be wrong.
its the indecision that gets you.
boson #1 was helpful
(i would have gotten a better score w/all 3)
but, i was lazy, cheap and did not have enough time to justify the expense to review them.
i studied for 3 months !!!.
the first two were all reading caslow!
used:
boson#1
caslow b,r,s for ccie was helpful.
brainbuzz ccie cramsession has more info than you think.
http://sitamoht.com/ ccie notes.
tr white paper.
exam cram only rely for general info
having taken mcns helped with security stuff.

the bottom line is you cannot trust 1 source of info for this test unless you are godlike!
study them all and review review review!
until you are ready (like sponge bob)
sorry i have kids ?

next summer ... earliest

written ready and lab ready are 2 completely
different things. it also depends on whether i
get a lab prep course between now and then ...
a lot changed at my comapny since sept 11.
something that was approved is now a "maybe"

Congrats! I'm still in study hard mode for my exam tomorrow morning... I'll let ya know how I get on - I'm using the Sybex CCIE book, as well as the Cisco Press CCIE stuff (which as far as I can tell is more targeted at the lab.)

I don't anticipate having major grief on this test, however. What's the pass mark? 70%?

Again, dude, congratulations and good luck on the lab.

yes_and_no if that makes any sense.
easy and hard questions intermixed
but its what you don't know that's the issue.
i am really strong w/ switching and it was hardly
covered.

since the test is so varied you have to cover all the bases enough that the accumulation of what you don't know won't cause a fail
and i believe that because I studied my butt off and only got a marginally passing score.

That's one thing about the exam is that it covers such a broad range of topics that you don't know what they're going to ask. \

Did you think the questions were tougher than the CCNP exams? :-)

The passing score will vary depending on how many people pass the exam. They will adjust the score if too many people are passing or less people are passing. Last time I heard it was 70% and that was almost a month ago.
