| I have finished my certs on Cisco, and am now ready to sell my home lab...

The total paid for this was 9537.00
so receive a discount, get the equipment, get the labs, get the notes....
let me know, they will be going on ebay after Thanksgiving here.
All routers have the rack ears, including the 4000, and the 4700, and those were a pain to locate, and were very costly...

| I had to postpone my lab date due to some contractural obligations... I do work with severeal CCIEs, and they tell me im better prepared that they ever were...
I had to turn my attention to Checkpoint, and CISSP... Unfortunately, I am somewhat dictated by client demands....
I no longer need all my lab equipment, since my company purchased all the equipment we asked for.
I am hoping to be able to reschedule my lab in April. Will pass on first try!!!! No option there...

| Nice one Kickboxr ...Congratulations on your CCIE.
BTW I notice that you don't have a Catalyst 5000 or 5500 in th list, I thought that they were in the lab?
So far the kit I have is as folows:
1 x 2524(T1/E1 & 4 Wire 56K Modules)
2 x 2501's
2 x 2502's
1 x 2514
1 x 2620(4 port ISDN Module)
1 x 2912 EN XL
1 x 2924 EN XL
2 x 1201's (with Fiber Modules)
2 x 1212's (with Fiber Modules)
2 x 8 Port RJ45 MAU's
1 x IBM 8228 MAU
1 x LattisNet 3000 (48 TR ports & 4/16 TR Fiber Card Module)
15 x Console cable kits
10 x DB60-DB60 serial Cables
6 x 4/16 TokenRing Cards for PC's (both ISA & PCI)
Loads of patch leads and crossover cables & TokenRing leads.
I think I will need to aquire a 4000 and/or a 4500/4700+ as well as a Cat5000/5500 with Fiber & ATM modules.
My question is will this be enough kit to let me have a crack at the CCIE Written & Lab, and do I really need a 5000/5500 or could i get away with just the theory for them?
Thanks in advance, and Congratulations again

| cat5000's are still $$$$$$$
my company is now buying 3548xl's
instead of buying line cards for empty
5000 chassis !! | |

| Well, while I did not own teh Cat 5000, my company has one with a sup III with NFFC, So I didnt need to buy it. If your going to get one, you better think hard about getting that, not the sup 1.
Your rack sounds very nice... Much more than what you will have to worry about!!!
the main thing is not to worry so much as to what equipment, as long as you know how to use them... Theres not alot of differences in commands, except fot the Set based switches. If you really want a 5000, you can prob get one off ebay with a SUP I for around 800.00 atleast you will get to play with sets////
Good luck, and thanks for the pumps from everyone!! |
