| recently i remember seeing some posts
regarding cisco quietly making the qualification
exam easier.
this is from the faq covering the exam changes
and it seem to answer the question.
15.Will fewer topics be covered on the exam?
No. The new format CCIE exams will cover the
same advanced topics at the same depth. Only
certain lower level skills more appropriate to the
lower or intermediate level Cisco certifications have been transferred to the qualification test.  | |

| Actually guys that may be untrue about the exam being easier, a larger number of ccie were concerned that one-day lab would degrade their highly lucrative salaries and sent cisco emails in an outrage to new one-day format. Cisco responded that one of the reasons for the new format was to fall in line with ccnp,ccdp track. Now from what the director comment was in the near future ccie written would be tremendously revamp, due to fact that many individual who pass the written never have chance of passing the lab. Many of the simple questions will excluded from the written because if a person has already completed the cisco career than they should have the basic knowledge already. So from my perceptive the exam will be a lot harder in near future, but for now I think the exam only test your theory of technology and yes in the new ccie written IBM technology will still exist and those who are studying for written such as myself know what I am talking about…. | |

in that statement, it doesn't matter though
I know i'm going to study my butt off for the written (loosely I am shooting for before the end
of 2001) and I know that the real work starts
after that.
i am using the token ring white paper,
exam cram, bridges routers and switches for ccie
and boson #1 to prepare. | |

as i said it really doesn't matter though
because if you're looking to cut corners,
you won't have a prayer on the lab.
