| hi ppl,
which is the best solution for Codecs in VOIP
AS5300 Gateways
codec G729
or other
We hve problem that it take too much bandwith in our Internet Core Router which is 2 MB.
What other option u can do to save this BAndwith.

| g729a codec would suffice on a ds channel. Are you running G711 now? | |

| Speaking of CODECS, I have just finishing taking CVOICE exam and find the exam to be challenging to certain point of degree and I was surprise to pass exam. The exam test heavily on VoATM , VOIP configuration and what voice cards apply to certain routers. If you anyone plan on taking that exam used BOSON exam #1 I find the exam to completely co inside with Cvoice book by cisco press, which was simply a terrible book to understand voice technology, however it give excellent example of cisco voice configuration. | |

| The only problem is that they do not tell you how to tie the e&m module into a PBX system. I wish they would have used a Redwood or something as an example. |
