Hey guys...

I have made it back into the server+ room again...after 3 unsuccessful tries on this most difficult exam, I think I am after it again; however, I need your help...

Ok, all of you ppl that have passed Server+, which of the practice test questions do you HIGHLY recommend...I recently have been using Crammaster.com testing material & found it very good...But I need everyones opinion here, because this is a tough test, seriously...

p.s. And guys, if you just passed your Network+ test & you really think you passed a hard exam, THINK AGAIN!!! You better study EXTRA for the Server+, it doesn't even compare on the difficulty!!!

seriously, after 3 tries, no testing software will help you because you have already seen lots of questions in the ACTUAL test... you know the level, the depth they are going to ask, you know how they ask it, and you may already seen some repeat, or atlesat get a general idea of focus.

what you need to do is to study more books, be it exam specific, or research about the exam topics that cover the exam topic. you don't want to waste any more money, so do it right. Time to take what you learn in those 3 tries and try to acquire the knowledge that will educate you to the point where you can answer those questions comfortably.

Mikop, it would be really helpful to know what types of questions that you are missing on the Server+ exam. For example, some people have a real problem memorizing all of the different technical aspects of RAID and SCSI. Other people have troubles solving the complex scenario questions.

Sometimes this is "fixed" by learning how to visualize the problem described in the question, or learning how to break a question down into its logical parts and analyze each premise separately.

The only way to know if you are having problems with a specific type of question is to take as many practice tests as you can (e.g., Boson, Transcender, MeasureUp, etc.) and be honest with your self-assessment of what you really know. I suppose that people who have already passed Server+ would be willing to sell their practice test materials rather cheaply.

Also, when I took the exam from Prometric, I received a print-out that included the areas of the exam in which I answered one or more questions incorrectly. If you have three of these print-outs then I suggest you compare them, make a list of the common areas that you missed, and concentrate your study on those subject areas.

I also have to point out that passing these CompTIA exams does seem to require wisdom and intuition that can only be gained from actually working with the technology itself. I really didn't have a problem with the SCSI questions on Server+ because I have a lot of hands-on SCSI experience. With tape backups, however, I'm not so well traveled, and I may have gotten a higher exam score if I were.

Remember, we're here for you...
