I had to take this exam . My employer wants me to get Hp/Compaq certified so they can keep their partnership and this was a prerequisite.

Dude I just passed my Net+, so how hard is the server+ exam?

I didn't find the exam that difficult . I have server experience so to me the questions were just common sense answers .
I thought the A+ or N+ was more difficult but that is just my opinion.

so do you have any advice on taking the exam, what kind of questions were they focusing on? I mean the A+ was pretty trying and the network+ was easier, so by comparison this should be a breeze.

Don't be too over-confident. This exam has a little better than 50% pass rate.

Server+ is very experience oriented. Approach the scenerio questions as if your manager was asking the question. Don't choose the quick fix, realize the implications of your actions (backup, business continuity). Know your RAID.. Also, if you aren't familiar with UPS's (simple thing to some) and everything that goes with them, get familiar with them before the test.

I agree with Supertechs post . Don't be over confident. Here are a few areas to concentrate on know raid levels 0/1,5
You should the difference between differential and incremental backups also
recovery times . You should know how snmp works and how to set traps.
Good Luck to all
