| Sorry to hear you failed. Can you give any feedback as to the level of difficulty the questions were? I went through some practice questions and they seem to be a combination of A+ and Network+ knowledge lumped into one exam.
What book are you using to study?

| Sure I'll tell you the sad story!
I took the test 2 times 1 year ago about 3 days apart.
The first time there was a women sitting next to me testing for more than half the time of my test coughing like she was going to die! I caled and bitched and got to take it for 1/2 price the second time.
Each time was at the same testing center.
Each time the test was about the same 80 very long senario based questions with 4 very long possible answers, in honesty barely enough time for me to read tham let alone think about them. Very, Very few short quick short answer questions.
The first time I barely finished in time and scored bad, I think in the 60-68% range.
The second time I scored 73% got done with about 6 minutes left to go back and rethink maked questions.
I used the Sybex server+ study guide and Measure -Up practice tests.
These tests are very much like the a+ or net+ tests but the real test was far different.
This time I have those and also Boson practice tests, the boson practice tests have 2 tests, one set is like the mesure-ups and the other is questions that are more like on the real test I took. Thing with those is they hammer the heck out of SCSI which really isn't much on the test from my exp. and other I read here.
Going into it on the first go I was sure I'd score 90-100%
This time I do not feel nearly as ready as I was then, I had almost decided not to take it as of yesterday, basically this is for a moral boost (that is if I pass) the job market sucks so bad it's not going to make a bit a difference on my resume.
There is just someone special in my life now who has encouraged me to go ahead and try again and seemed somewhat upset about me saying I had decieded not to as it was the first thing they mentioned today!

| Sorrrry. I could understand your pain, cos I took the test twice too. The first time I thought there was no way I could fail, I scored 73%. Second time, I thought I got all the questions right but scored 96%. I'm not complaining about the score, it's all behind me but I think I could help. Send me e-mail outside examnotes site. It might be your lucky day. Don't be confused, the time is still 90 mins, 80 ques. That 2hr 15m includes the time to answer the survey. | |

Why can't you share your help publicly? Could it be that your help may violate the NDA?

| Have to agreee the practice sites seem to make this exam look very easy seems like more of the A+ than the Net+ side but a bit of a mix of both.
I tried to passitnow version of Server +,
is there another free practice site where I may go hone my Server +???
To prepare for the Exam !!
Thanks

| "Don't be confused, the time is still 90 mins, 80 questions. That 2hr. 15m. includes the time to answer the survey."
Does this mean that if I don't fill out the survey this extra time will be added to my exam time or the time is automatically rearranged to the 90 regular minutes?

| No the test is 90 minutes max no matter what. You have 15 minutes at the front of the test to allow you to go through the tutorial on how to take a Comptia electronic test and 15 minutes at the end to answer the questionaire. Skipping either one does not change the time alotted. Test times for all the comptia tests now show this extra half hour. | |

| but you could write notes in the 15 minutes that they give you
you could write the stuff that you do not remember first and then this would be like a guide thru the exam

| After all I've read now around the web on this test I think I did ok failing with a 73 and think I may just say the heck with it this time and cancel the test, dunno yet. | |

I suppose you could if you think the things that you write down in the first 15 minutes are going to be forgotten in the next 90. I never study immediately before a test. If it is not in long term memory at my age it will probably be wrong anyway. Then I did not do the all night cram in university either.
Remember the test center is supposed to take your paper from you at the end of the exam so it is not like you can take anything out. Unless you have a dizzy test admin.

| I had cancelled the test mostly because I had not studied all week due to woman problems.
After a really crushing night last night finding out how wrong I was about someone I was sunk and hurt.
I woke up at 5am had coffee, went and talked to a freind about last night, got back home and decieded that I need to turn this around and do something for me today.
I went online to reschedule but the online registration can only be 48hrs in advance.
So I called prometric, I figure that way directly if the testing center had an opening I could still get in.
My original test I cancelled was at 10am, my new time was 1245pm.
It was now 9am
I sat down with testking Server + 240 questions and answers and quickly read through just the questions and the answers until 1130am
I left early, stopped and asked the one who hurt me to wish me luck, drove to the testing center, went and got some lunch ate it took a walk then took my test.
I finihed in 35 minutes this time, I did not go back and recheck any of them I had 50+ min. left I clicked END.
I scored a 76 = passing.
Not bad for someone who really only studied fro 2.5 hrs had failed it twice before, who had 5 hrs sleep, his heart ripped out, and no recommended 18-24 months server envirionment exp. not even 18-24 seconds worth.
After a bad week no study, heartbreak ect. I actully started to cry some after I hit the highway to go home.
So hey freinds how about some encouragement! I sure could use it now.

| actually I see why you say that now, but I assure anyone who reads this I was not aware of that beforehand.
I have however invested the cost of 3 exams measureup, sybex, boson, & tk.
and 18 months of off and on study.
Ive spent alot, and learned alot.
Until a couple of weeks ago I never even knew forums like this existed, never really occured to me to look.
Im surely not expert now, I scored a 73 without ""cheating"" and a 76 after ""cheating"" I took the test at a different place this time and it was a way simpler test than the first 2 times way simpler. |
