| I took the test Saturday and passed with a 76%...75%needed to pass. I used Exam Essentials 6, testking SK0-001 CompTIA Server+.pdf, and Server+ Study Guide from Sybex.
On to 70-218 for MCSA...Good luck to everyone in the future.

| well done - did you have the same kinda questions as me - backup raid and common sense? | |
| cmkav1 2003-04-01, 2:40 pm |
| Yes...Quite a bit of RAID. Exam essentials really helped. | |

| How difficult would you say it was! I got my Sybex Server+ book on April 1st, finished it on April 6th, completed Exam Essentials this morning and now studying testking.
I have heard rumors from others who took the test that they where hit with diverse questions about Novell, Unix, and Windows. And I am not talking about the basic stuff either.
Is there anything I should watch out for that isn't in the Sybex Book, Exam Essentials, or Testking.
Also, how did you deal with Exam Essentials and testking having different correct answers for the same questions.
I plan to attempt to take the test on April 11th.

| Yes...Testking and exam essentials did have a few different answers but not many. I think exam essentials is a little more accurate. I did not have many if any novell or unix questions. If you look at exam essentials that is the toughest it will get.
There was one question that showed a diagram of a cat 5 cable and you had to decide when it would be used (hub to hub, hub to nic, nic to nic) but the diagram was so bad I really couldn't tell. I don't know what else to say about that one except try to do some searching of crossover and straight cables and see how they are labeled and how they look.
Good luck!!! | |

| The Crossover/Patch Cable question is easy for me. I'm Network+ and CCNA certified. I also have a switch and some patch and crossover cables I have made. If you ever try to buy a personal switch. Get a Netgear FastEthernet Switch. Mine supports Patch and Crossover connetions from PC to Switch.
OK. I take my test in 1 1/2 hours from now. I am going to review the exam essentials questions I printed out and discussed with my instructor.
I'm 13 Pass - 0 Fail as far as Technical Exams. I hope to remain undefeated by all Exams.

| Passed with a score of 85. Took 45 minutes to complete.
Now I will work on Linux+, but because I have little Unix/Linux Experience, it may take me quite a while to prepare for it (I may take MCSE upgrade exams from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 first if the books come out soon enough. At least I get to use Red Hat 9.0 (Released within the last week to the public) to study it.
Now if I could just get hired somewhere to put my skills to productive use!
