Is server+ a hard exam? I heard it was just A+ but more advanced? I might change my route alittle and go for that first then net+.

I would do Net+ first, if I were you. It is difficult. It is very experience oriented. It's not just facts and figures. It is very scenerio based. You could use the info from Net+ to aid your studies for Server+. Trust me.

It is an oversimplification to characterize Server+ as the same as A+ but more advanced. Server+ deals with high end server technology. Server+ requires you to demonstrate your knowledge by solving scenario problems. A+ and Server+ share the fact that they both deal with vendor-neutral hardware technologies. The objectives and the formats of the exams are extremely different.

Most cert websites rating for difficulty:

A+ : 1/5
Server+ : 2/5
CTT+ : 3/5

Personally I would rate it a 3 for folks without the experience.

Good luck should you decide to write it!

Never try to take Server+ unless u have experience with Servers and also u have taken some entry level certification exams . Its the toughest exam i ever took. Hope this helps

The exam is tough there is no doubting that. I would not attempt it either without some sort of server experience.
