| I took the server+ exam on the 15th of august and failed with a score of 74% I was mad with myself and would have retaken it the same day if it had been for proplems with registration for the exam.
I retook it today and passed with a score of 83%
I wish to this opportunity to than members of the forum for thier contributions.
My tips for future test takers include.
1.Patience counts.Dont rush there could be more to the question than you think.
2. Review the questions you have doubts about.
3.Try as many practice tests as you can. I know they are limited.
I also found the following resources very useful, Server+ study guide published by Sybex publishers and examdrill. ( Be careful about exam drill because I think there is a problem with the program it may indicate some right anwers as wrong. Free comptia also has about three practice test
I have been preparing for the inet and the Network+ by the side and I hope to take them in ten days time.

| I studied for the Server+ exam for approximately four months using the Sybex study guide while I believe it is a good book that gives a excellent and solid understanding of server technology it does not adequately prepares you for the VERY, VERY, VERY SUBJECTIVE nature of the Server+ exam. Anyway I studied and passed on my first attempt on October 4,with a score of 75 it’s not pretty but it is sure as hell better than failing.
What I do credit to me grazing past this exam is a site called http://www.drainbumpcentral.com .About half of my questions came EXACTLY from this site under the Server+ section (but be beware some of these answers may be wrong which I believe may have contributed to the “low score” during the exam I was sure I easily getting a score in the upper 80s or low 90s) and the rest seemed to have a “familiar feel” to them since I know I saw it on the internet but I cannot remember where. To prospective exam takers out there 1.Study, Study, Study 2.Do not underestimate this exam. 3. Do not rely only on your study guide(s) check out the mentioned site do some outside research. 4.Do not expect straightforward questions about 60 of my questions were scenario oriented. 5. Good luck to you all and thank you to all on the message boards

| I'm sorry you had to rely on a drainbump to pass this exam. Too bad you couldn't pass based on your own knowledge of the material. | |

Did you get the following question?
Which of the following best describes you?
A)A fraud
B)A failure
C)A tech wannabe
D)A first post flame-baiter
E)All of the above | |

| Ufff.
The poor guy didn't even learned the name of the cheating site.
What a failure....
Congrats on the cheating anyways...You're very good at memorizing answers...and that counts.

| Ok.. so for the rest of us who study to LEARN the material for our jobs sake, can someone tell me sources used to help them please? Sybex is one I saw on this thread as well as examdrill, are there any others?
Thanks for your replies.
