I think it's "D"!

Absolutely "D".
The presence of rodents would threaten the integrity of the equipment.

Thanks guys, that's what i would go for too.

And noise isn't? S'pose the npise was like a huge woofer vibrating with rap music? Wouldn't that be considered an environmental issue?

No. Noise is bothersome to the personnel, but not to the equipment.

Not even noise that rattles the server with vibrations???

You're trying to read too much into the question. Noise that creates vibration is then considered vibration (a concern).
Noise is noise.

Rodents are a BIG concern. In my industrial environment, I keep the bait out and still have to clean up after the varmits. (a note: mice droppings and urine are the leading cause of junta virus. I always use gloves and such during cleanup.)

I still get tickled when I look up and see the sprinkler nozzles in the ceiling. I've still got Halon extinguishers on the wall but you don't want to be in a room after discharging one of those babies (Halon displaces oxygen)

i think it is (D )

If you have noise that is so darned loud that it is causing your servers to vibrate, then I hope your crew is wearing airline ground crew type ear protectors.

OK Supertech - now you've got me wondering. Do I really want to get into supporting servers when I have to worry about rat droppings, Junta Virus, and Halon extinguishers displacing all of the oxygen?

Plus, on top of that - I've just learned from reading a few posts in this forum that Server+ is considered the hardest CompTIA cert.

What have I stepped in to? Hope there are no rats around.

Thunder Cloud,

Yeah Server+ is Comptia's hardest cert right now but believe me Security+ is going to be even harder, it's as broad as cissp, think of it as easy version of Cissp.

Good luck with your Server+

I took this exam last week & did not pass...it was my first CompTIA not too pass...I studied my a$$ off too...I am taking it again on this Friday & I plan on throwing up after I take this exam...My brain is fried & I better pass this...I do recall seeing this question or something similar on the exam...I ended up putting the rodent as my answer...but after reading here, everyone seems to think it is noise...Does anyone know the CORRECT answer that CompTIA is wanting...Please let me know as well as the others, if you can find the where it says this in a book that would be helpful too...thxs

Trust me Sean, it's noise.
Rats love to chew cables (when they're not pissin' & poopin' on everything).
Temperature is obvious (isn't it?).
Fire suppresion is important (for the equipt., not you).

By the time I looked at the question and decided on an answer, you guys were already talking about it heh.

Anyway, I choose (D) Noise. And yeah, rats like to gnaw on chewy things like power cables and RJ-45s.

It is noise, based on CompTia environment concerns, it is the environment that concerns the hardware equipment.

Noise can tend to annoy us, but hardware has no ears, where there is hardware, we are not necessary in it.

Roden causes cabling issue.

And Sean, there are things call remote controls...

Hey Ruscorpx...

Just curious which resources you are using to pursue CNA (novell, correct?)...I bought a book recently to study for that on half.com, but it was for 4.11 version...I figured that was the version most companies are using in Novell (though very few)...I just wanted this cert to simply validate that I knew some Novell, if I ever had to use it...Novell sent me a ver5 w/3 workstation licenses way back & have installed it at home...but I didn't have any "real" knowledge on where to go with it...any input is great...or u simply don't have to answer anything...peace!!!

Novell isn't my "hot" topic either. However I figure everyone at least needs some foundation in it. I learned 4.11 and 5 in school. I was given a Sybex CNE book for 4.11 and a crappy binder school-taught book for 5 (which sucked a$$ and I complained about it). However for the CNA 5.1 which I am going for I am relaying on Novell Press even though their books are quite pricey. I have little hand-on with Novell, only what I saw in school. I have never actually worked with it on a one-on-one basis.
