| A while ago I would have said hardware. Now, I don't even understand the distinction. If you are a good tech, prepared to solve problems, how can you predict the mix of situations you will encounter? The PC is the PC. It is a machine that integrates ideas with electricity. | |

Most people seem to be better at one or the other though. programming and software have been my strong suits, hardware I am still relatively weak at. | |

| This question is being posed in the Server+ forum. My response is valid in this context. I am assuming that we are discussing this question as it relates to the responsibilities of an advanced PC technician. If we change the context to IT in general, the implications are quite different and the forum should be different as well. |
