Just a helpful thought. I used several exam cram sheets from several sites, Exam Cram, Syngress / Osborne Test yourself book ( first edition – I never checked out the 2nd edition – but it’s $10 more.)

I then sat down and created my own cram sheet (attached below).

These were specific area’s I needed to work on and memories. For me remembering all the specifics on SCSI – cable length, speed, variations and combinations – was difficult. I created this sheet at first just with memorizing these. ( tape size and speed was a bugger too)

I finally realized ( thick headed) that I needed to get the main features like WIDE = 0-15, 16 bit, and speed increase. Ultra = SCSI3, Ultra2 = SCSI4. Break it down into things you can memorize – then get the details of each.

I also spent a good deal of time in my swimming pool “chanting” DSS 2,4,12, 20 and DLT 10, 20, 35, 40, 110 - these are the uncompressed speeds – I didn’t have to memorize the compressed size as it’s just double. * like I said a little slow * But it got the concepts in my mind. ( now getting the speeds down was another story – and OH YES – you’ll need to be aware of all of these variables in the test )

Realize that if you have not taken the test yet – there are a lot of scenario questions that give you multiple choice answers that in themselves are multiple choice.
Your choices are:
1. I and II
2. I and IV
3. I, III, and IV
4. II, and III

You have to know the little details just to eliminate a few of the wrong answers. This test takes time to complete because you have to take time and really examine both what the questing is asking and which is the BEST options – often most of the options listed to choose from will work – but only one is the best.

Make your own cram sheet from all the resources you have and review it regularly – ESPECIALLY just before you walk into the exam.

Hope this is helpful,
