Very happy to get tis one behind me! I have taken FCC exams, FAA certification tests, many college class tests, about 10 M$ tests, a number of Compaq tests (plus the A+ and N+)
and this was something else. It is passable if you just take the time to read carefully. There are usually at least two possible answers and the rick is to decide which one is MORE correct. With 26 years in the business I have my bias and COMPTia has theirs...and usually the two are very different. Here is a strong suggestion to get through this one. If you have some RAID and server repair experience, get the dDummies book and read it through a couple of times. Get the VN tests (cheap for the price)and take the practice tests over and over and over until you continually get over 900. THEN, knock this baby down. It's doable if you commit a lot of time to study. Most questions are scenarios and require a lot of reading and thought. Very few short questions with simple answers. MAny questions on RAID, backup, and troubleshooting. Concerning how it is written...I have written several tests and study the English language. It's well written, dispite what you hear. It causes a lot of deep concentration, which some don't like in a test I guess. GO DO IT!!!

I agree - it's worded in a such a way that you can't breeze through it - you have to look at each question carefully. I got a 71 the 1st time, 86 the 2nd.

Realize that if you have not taken the test yet – there are a lot of scenario questions that give you multiple choice answers that in themselves are multiple choice.
Your choices are:
1. I and II
2. I and IV
3. I, III, and IV
4. II, and III

You have to know the little details just to eliminate a few of the wrong answers. This test takes time to complete because you have to take time and really examine both what the questing is asking and which is the BEST options – often most of the options listed to choose from will work – but only one is the best.

Make your own cram sheet from all the resources you have and review it regularly – ESPECIALLY just before you walk into the exam.

Great job.

The difficulty and challenge makes this cert. well worth earing. Then we know whoever has it on their resume actually learned something in the process of study.
