| I agree Dagger it's not a tough test as far as the material. Makes it hard to get up and hit the books again. Way to hang in there. Keep your chin up! | |

| Well, I attempted the Server+ after little real world experience and reviewing the RedBook by Coriolis and some online resouces. Took the A+ and Network+ with no major issues. The Server+ was difficult. Many of the questions were long and tricky. I guess I didn't expect CompTia to make this one very challenging. Thought wrong, and that's a good thing. Make these exams too easy and simple (I feel) takes away from the strength of the cert. I have much respect for anyone who scores over 90% on the first attempt.
Now I'm using more online resouces AND when you pass or fail a Comptia exam, the printed results outline your weaknesses. Of course, I will be crossreferencing this!
*Round Two* -- perhaps within the next two weeks or when I feel very very confident. It's not about failing twice.

| Well its always a shame to fail an exam, and its easy for me to be all clever just coz I passed . I still have to say that this exam is not any more difficult than others I have taken. I wont go into what the questions were like again (you can see that elsewhere), this exam is acheivable and no harder than other exams. It would be interesting to know what you studied for this, again I have mentioned my materials elsewhere, so won't go there. Like every test its all about preparation, I would guess that you have seen brainbuzzes cramsession and you should easily see from the questions that you saw how this test relates to them.
Go on try again! | |

| I failed on my first try with a 74. Now THAT makes you sick when that bar scrolls across the screen and stops one point shy. The fact is the test is hard and there is no one training book to prepare you. In fact, The only real way to perpare for this one is to research the topics one by one. I passed it on my second try with an 85. Set your mind to pass take your time and you will make it next time. | |

| Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. Again, I am glad the exam is not a breeze. It seems that I treated the CompTia exams different than that of the Microsoft exams I've taken thus far and I suppose it's because I do not deal with server equipment day to day as I do with the Windows environments that I manage every single day.
At the end of it all, and with a passing grade from a second attempt, I hope to have a higher level of understanding of servers and be able to show clients and peers just that. I don't plan on quitting.
RE: TheDragger and the first post on this thread...I don't think I'd go into an exam with that much anxiety! Next time, reschedule if you can until you feel comfortable.

Yep digitalguy, will do will do will do .
What made me feel really angry and disappointed is the amount of money I paid from my pocket for this exam. For me it's really too much money, which in turn really shocked me up down when I saw the result FAILED !! I can't afford for another exam for now, but maybe in near future. Now I'm preparing for HP-UX Presales Engineer exam, which has more piority than Server+ as my manager told me. Once I passed HP-UX exam (1H0-191), my company is willing to pay the fees for it. Same thing applies to Server+, you passed means you get your money back from the company.
Any advices on HP exam (1H0-191)? I'll be glad if you drop some tips on this one :-). |
