I know this doesn't necessarily belong in the server+ forum but I was wondering if anyone knew the rfc number for IPv6. I am doing a paper on it and I wanted to use the IETF's website as a reference. Not to mention that would be one of the best places to go for info. Thanks.

google search rfc to get to 1st displayed link.

http://www.rfc-editor.org/

click search rfc and type in ipv6 and there you go.

I used that same step to find it that you did mikop. However, I was accessing this page at school in the library and I haven't been able to find my way back to it. It gave the actual rfc number to put in the ietf's web site so you could go right to it. I was wondering if anyone else knew that number. I may just have to wait till I get back to scholl and see if I can re-trace my steps so to speak. Thanks for the help though.

RFC 1883 is the base specification in case you were still in a quandry.

Cheers!
