| I wanted to gather everyone's opinion on which of these prep books is the best for Server+? Or perhaps none are. Or they should be used in combination.
Thanks for your help... looking to get some insight on how to prepare for this exam.

Take the test objectives and/or cramsession study guide and do your own exhaustive research on the net. Take each topic and search for as much info as you can find. You will amass a great deal of material and you will learn a great deal.

| I both agree and disagree with Supertech. I think that his idea of researching more than the test may cover is great. I still think a book is a good idea as a main area to focus on... I guess I like getting the best of both worlds! | |

| I have read both the Server+ bible and the MS server+. Ther server+ ranks higher not only information that actually pertains to the test but in most respects remains vendor netural. The MS book is laid out to funky and jumps around too much.
I'm not giving the server+ praise tho. There has to be a better book to come out soon to actually prepare you for this test. The server+ bible just isn't enough to read it, study, and then take the test. You will fail. You have to identify you weakness and amass documentation to help you better understand the concepts in the blueprint.
Thats my two cents anyway.

| Don't get me wrong, Freak. If there was a good book for the S+ exam, I'd own it. But in the mad rush of publishers to get a book to press, I think they miss the mark horribly. (even M. Myers is rehashing his material in the passport series) A great deal of posts ask "what book is best?", as tho it were a magic pill. In the business of certification, publishers are more concerned with selling books than getting you certified. In that respect, they do us a great disservice. jmo______ | |

I only used the Server+ bible and I passed.
I though it was a good book. It was the Sybex Server+ study guide that I thought had some major issues. |
