| I'm working on Network+ right now so I probably won't mess with Server+ for awhile. But I was wondering if anybody knows of any books about server basics, you know, how to build, how to setup and deploy, etc. I know this overlaps with PC hardware but there is a horespower difference among other things. I can't find any books about servers period. I know the Server+ books will be out soon but I was just looking for something to wet my whistle.

| About the hardware, there is a Horsepower difference but its still the same as building a pc. But you might have to setup RAID 5 in a server and a tape back drive and so on..
I just built a dual 866 piii with a gig of error correction ram and all sorts of good stuff. It was simple, I still have to figure out how to implement a raid 5 on that puppy though.

| The hungry minds Server + Certfication Bible is available at www.hungryminds.com. Check it out. You will find that the TOC matchs comptia objectives to a T. Plus it will more than wet you whistle...you will get a good desktop companion book as well.

Hungry Minds web site says that this book is not published yet. It doesn't say anything, that I can find, about a desktop companion book. The Table of Contents says that there are lots of chapters. The wording on some of the Table of Contents does have the same words as used in the CompTIA objectives, but I can't tell that they match the objectives exactly.

This book was publised in June, and has been available @ Amazon since april or may. And Wesbster, what book says it is a desktop companion..From other comments you have posted, and other comments i have seen from other members...I get the feeling you are bashing books because you either wrote one of the other ones, or one of your buddies did! What do you think of that?
